My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Ruby — a soft soul with the sweetest little meow. Ruby is an 11-year-old, sweet and sensitive beauty, with a calm presence that instantly makes a home feel quieter and warmer. We don't know he breed mix for sure but we know she is a stunning lilac point girlie with heterochromia (!!) and a silky soft coat.

After losing the only home she knew for 12 years, Ruby was understandably shaken but she’s been slowly and bravely finding her footing in foster care. She’s especially bonded to her foster parents, greeting them at the door with the most delicate meow, a tiny reminder of how deeply she loves her people. Ruby adores affection once she feels safe, though she prefers it to be gentle and on her own terms. Give her a few days to settle in, and she’ll begin seeking out pets, companionship, and soft moments together.

Ruby is the kind of cat who chooses her snuggles thoughtfully and will curl up beside you on the couch or in bed when the mood is right. Then will seek out a cozy, sun-warmed spot for peaceful alone time. She’s sensitive, soulful, and incredibly loving, just not the pushy type.

Her ideal home is a calm sanctuary where she can feel secure and adored without pressure. Ruby would thrive in a quiet household with no energetic dogs, kids, cats. She may be able to live with another older, independent cat or dog, but above all, she needs a home that respects her need for serenity, safety, and security.

Ruby is currently on a prescription diet for urinary health. She has a history of crystals and UTIs and does best with a low-stress environment, urinary supplements, and plenty of hydration. Prior to entering the shelter, she underwent a cystotomy to remove stones and has been recovering beautifully and has clean urinalyses since! As a senior, she’ll need routine senior wellness care, including bloodwork and urine testing, to help keep her feeling her best.

Ruby may be quiet, but her love runs deep. She’s looking for someone who will move at her pace, treasure her gentle nature, and offer her the peaceful forever home she so deserves.

Vaccinated for FVRCP and Rabies. Neuetered and microchipped and FeLV / FIV negative.

To apply for Ruby, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the animal is on our website, they are still available.

Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable cat, or final size of any of our adoptable kittens. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the cat into our rescue.

STEP 1: Apply!
Download and complete an ADOPTION APPLICATION from www.waggytailrescue.org/adopt-a-waggytail

STEP 2: The Meet and Greet!
We strongly suggest the ALL members of the household come to the meet and greet. STEP 3: Contract and Donation!
Fill out and sign the TRANSFER AGREEMENT.

The DONATION FEE may be paid by Venmo (@WaggytailRescue) or Paypal (waggytailrescue@gmail.com, add $15 processing fee). Please put the name of the dog in the memo section! Electronic payment is preferred!
You may also pay by check (payable to Waggytail Rescue), however processing of adoptions may be delayed by up to 2 weeks.
If your new buddy is not yet neutered, a $100 refundable deposit must be paid at adoption.

Dog Donation Fees

$450 for dogs 1 to 8 years
$325 for seniors over 9 years of age

Please add an additional $15 when paying by PayPal to cover processing fees.
