6-year-old female Chihuahua/ Beagle (?) mix, a FAT 22 pounds! She's not fat, she's big boned! It's in the genes! 😂 No, actually she has hypothyroidism and is now on meds, which means she can slim down and feel better! She will be on these meds for life. Momma Daisy came to us very pregnant from a California shelter. She gave birth to two very cute kids (Liberty and Honor) and is now ready to find her furever home! Daisy is not a mover and a shaker. While she will happily go for a walk and wrestle with her kiddos, her preferred mode is cuddle and eat! She does get some exercise following you around the house, so maybe she can help you get in your 10,000 steps! She will pick someone in the house and be glued to them. But if you're not around, she will glue to another person. She's doing great on the leash and is starting to love her walks. She uses the doggie door for potty. She would probably leave a cat alone and would do fine with older kids. A very sweet girl just wants love and to give love. To request an adoption application, email smidgetrescue@hotmail.com
Adoption contract and fee applies. All adoptable dogs can be met at adoption events hosted every weekend. For a list of scheduled events go to: https://www.facebook.com/SmidgetRescue/events . Smidget Rescue is not a shelter, and dogs cannot be seen at the Rescue location. All dogs are fostered throughout the Puget Sound area and are brought to the events where they can be met by prospective adopters. Additional pictures of adoptable dogs can be seen at: https://www.facebook.com/SmidgetRescue/photos_stream?tab=photos_albums. All adoptable dogs are spayed or neutered at 6 months of age or older. Puppies are adopted with a refundable spay/neuter deposit (in addition to the adoption fee) and adopters are required to get their puppy to our vet for their pre-scheduled spay-neuter appointments. APPLICATIONS CAN BE OBTAINED BY EMAIL ONLY. Adoption process includes application, meet & greet, home visit and reference check. Email Jamie at smidgetrescue@hotmail.com or click on the CONTACT link on this page. PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS BEFORE SENDING. 8632781We get a fair number of incorrect emails and Jamie is not able to contact potential adopters. Notice: We do not ship dogs out of state. You must live within a three-hour radius of Seattle, WA, (such as Portland, Vancouver B.C., etc.), so we can arrange for a home visit. If your home seems like a great fit for the dog you would like to adopt, you must then drive to meet the dog at one of our weekend events or at the fosters home.

More about this rescue
Smidget Rescue was founded in December of 2010. We started off saving small dogs off the euthanasia list in California shelters. We have evolved over the years and now concentrate
on local Washington dogs; from local shelters, direct owner surrenders and strays. We have have found homes for over 3000 dogs since inception.
Our mission is to help rehome homeless and unwanted dogs in Washington State by providing the resources to enable proper matchmaking for the dog and the new family. We do not do same day adoptions because our process requires an application process with reference/background and physical home checks. This process ensures we meet the goals of our mission.
