BIO: Ollie came to us when his owners were expecting to make several moves and they felt it would be too stressful for him. Ollie came from an illegal breeder and because of this he was not socialized and is scared of new things and people. Someone that adopts him will need to have patience with him while he gets comfortable with his new world.
When he came to us it took him several days to eat, get comfortable, and wag his tail when we would come home or into the room. Now that he has been with us for a while, he "growl talks" to us with his tail wagging. (How cool is that?) He gets along with the other dogs in his foster home and will play some but he is more interested in his foster mom or dad giving him attention.
Our must haves for Ollie are:
If you see the possibility of him being your best friend then take a chance, you will not be sorry. He really is a joy to have as a foster.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund’s back or get bitten.

There will be an additional $60 fee added for a required Health Certificate if traveling out of the state in which they are being fostered.
We will not adopt into CT, RI, NH, ME, or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have any issue with this, you will need to take this up with your legislatures.
