Daniel the Lionheart is a Golden Doodle mix with a gentle soul and a big heart. This sensitive boy has lots of energy and so much love to give, but the shelter environment has been very stressful for him. Despite that, he remains an absolute sweetheart—and once you meet him, it’s impossible not to fall in love.
Daniel traveled all the way from Oklahoma in hopes of finding his happy ending, and he truly deserves it. He can startle easily, so he’s looking for a calm, patient home that will help him settle in and learn that the world isn’t as scary as it sometimes feels. With kindness, routine, and reassurance, Daniel will blossom into an incredibly devoted companion.
He gets along well with other dogs and would benefit from canine friends who can help show him the ropes. If you’re someone with a soft heart, a gentle voice, and the patience to help a sensitive pup shine, Daniel the Lionheart may be the brave, loving best friend you’ve been waiting for

The first step to adopting a cat or dog from Animal Friends Alliance is to fill out an adoption questionnaire. You can do this online!
The next step is to pick out a cat or dog! Check out our adoptable cats and adoptable dogs for pictures and short descriptions or come into the shelter at our Taft Hill campus. We also have adoptable cats at many offsite locations.
Note: not all available cats and dogs reside at our campuses. Some are at off-site adoption partners or in foster homes. If you are interested in a particular cat or dog, please call our shelter at (970) 484-8516 to find out about their current status and location.
We do not ship animals. You are required to come and meet your new addition prior to adoption so that we can ensure a good match.
Please note that we will make a copy of the adopters’ State ID card, Driver’s License or passport at the time of adoption.

Our spay/neuter clinic performs surgeries on both cats & dogs, and we also offer low-cost vaccination clinics every week.
Our organization's goal is to do everything in our power to prevent euthanasia due to 'homelessness'.
