My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there, I’m Kye. I’m an 8-month-old brown-gray girl with a soft coat and a gentle soul. I came to the shelter because someone in my family had allergies—not because I did anything wrong. I’m just one of those kitties who needed a change through no fault of my own. I can be a little shy at first and like to take my time warming up, but once I feel comfortable, my friendly side really shines through. I especially love kids and do very well with respectful little humans. I’m affectionate on my terms—I’ll happily sit beside your chair, accept pets when I ask for them, and let you pick me up when I’m in the mood. When I’ve had enough, I’ll politely wander off for a nap or some fresh air. Easy, right? I enjoy playtime (mouse toys are a favourite!) and get along well with other cats and dogs with proper introductions. If you’re looking for a sweet, slightly shy companion who will grow into a loving best friend at her own pace, I might be your girl. Will you give me the chance to settle in and show you who I really am?

The Windsor/Essex County Humane Society was founded in 1926 and incorporated in 1949. The Humane Society has a publicly-tendered contract with the City of Windsor to provide animal control and basic shelter services in the City.
