My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Cheese (mmm...cheese.)

Small in size, but absolutely packed with personality, Cheese is a pint-sized lovebug with a big nose for adventure and an even bigger love for people. She's curious about everything, happiest when she's involved in whatever you're doing, and firmly believes personal space is optional.

Cheese is affectionate, people-oriented, and will gladly volunteer as your shadow, lap warmer, and emotional support snack inspector. And yes - she REALLY loves cheese. Like, would do a cartwheel if she could for a bite of authentic Wisconsin cheddar if she could. The name fits.

If you're looking for a tiny companion with a huge heart, a curious spirit, and a lifelong commitment to the appreciation of fine snacks, Cheese is ready to melt her way right into your home.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1941 by the third female graduate from Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, SAVE is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit animal shelter dedicated to protecting the health and welfare of homeless companion animals in the greater Princeton area and beyond. Through six core programs of Rescue, Shelter, Health and Welfare, Spay/Neuter, Foster and Adoption.

The SAVE shelter facility has the capacity to house upwards of 100 animals at a time (approximately 75 cats and 25 dogs). The shelter exceeds no-kill benchmark standards and ensures that adoptable animals facing adversity are given a lifeline, a chance to flourish, and the promise of a better tomorrow.
