My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Lilo, a brand new arrival with a sleek black coat and big “tiny hero in a brand new world” energy. Right now, Lilo is shy at first and taking shelter life in one careful step at a time. She is the type who prefers to observe from a cozy corner before deciding you are officially safe and worth knowing.

Lilo is looking for a calm home, gentle hellos and a patient human who understands that trust is earned. Give her a little time and consistency, and you will likely see her start to blossom into the sweetest kind of companion, the one who quietly chooses you and then sticks close. Ohana is important, and Lilo just needs a moment to decide you are hers.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1868, The SF SPCA is a community-supported nonprofit dedicated to saving, protecting and caring for cats and dogs. We do this through immediate care of animals that are homeless, ill or in need of an advocate, but we also work to educate the community, reduce the number of unwanted kittens and puppies through spaying/neutering, and improve the quality of life for animals and their companions.
