My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Animal Information: Hanz is an estimated almost 2-year-old, male, German Shepherd/Doberman mix, weighing approximately 75lbs. Hanz has been described as dog and people friendly. He is a bit on the goofy side and has a low prey drive. Check out his video!

Foster Profile:  Hanz can be a little shy when meeting strangers for the first time, but once he is comfortable, his true personality comes out and he turns into a total cuddle bug. He was an instant hit with our dog and they play together daily. He’s also been wonderful with our cat. He doesn’t bother him at all and they coexist peacefully. Our cat is usually nervous when we have guests or dogs over, but he’s been comfortable with Hans since day one, which says a lot.

Hans is a quiet boy; even when our dog barks at dogs passing by, Hans stays calm and doesn’t join in. Crate training is a work in progress. He sleeps well in his crate, but does get a little nervous if we leave the room while he’s in his crate. This is the only time we have heard him bark. He is much more comfortable if our dog is nearby.

Hans is a dream on leash. He naturally heels without being asked and doesn’t react to squirrels, dogs, or people. He does great in the car and usually just curls up and naps. Hans is a sweet, easy, going, and affectionate guy who’s happiest being near his people. He’s also house trained and hasn’t had a single accident. He has a great balance of playfulness and being relaxed. He enjoys short play sessions with our dog and then happily settles down to rest. He absolutely loves snuggling and is always asking for pets and kisses. Hans has so much love to give, and any family who adopts him will be lucky to receive it!

Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, heartworm test, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization (ID 81-5101166).
