My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Vienna (A140076) is a 4-year-old AK Husky mix who weighed 48.3 pounds on intake!

01/31/26 Miss Vienna arrived back at the shelter as a stray and was subsequently surrendered due to a move and a new baby coming in the near future for her previous owners. Vienna was said to be kennel trained and housebroken. She was described as outgoing, friendly and a little clingy. She was also said to love her dog bed and to spend most of her time lounging in it. She will get into trash and food that is left where she can reach it, but she was said to generally mind well. Vienna was said to be playful with children and other dogs. She does not have any experience with cats or other types of animals. Please make sure any and all introductions are done in a slow and controlled manner. Vienna also seems to prefer her dog food to be smaller kibbles. Maybe she thinks she is getting more when they are smaller sized! If you are interested in meeting Miss Vienna, please give us a call!

10/30/25 This sweetheart is Vienna! Vienna arrived at the shelter as a stray and defaulted to the borough. She was initially pretty shy but quickly came out of her shell and now eagerly greets staff each morning! We always encourage new owners to bring their pet to a basic obedience class with a certified trainer to continue working on their manners. Vienna has done a good job at keeping her kennel clean, indicating that she may be housebroken. However, she may need some reminders as she settles into her new home and routine. We do not know if she has experience with children or other animals, please ensure you are making appropriate introductions. If you are interested in meeting Vienna, please let us know!
