My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Riley — fast feet, big heart, and endless potential!

Riley is a 2-year-old husky mix with energy for days and love to spare. If running, hiking, or tossing a ball until your arm gets tired sounds like your idea of fun… Riley is already packing her bags. She’s learned to fetch in foster care and it’s now her absolute favorite game.

She sleeps through the night in her kennel (after proper snuggles, of course ) and is very food-motivated and eager to learn — a dream for someone who enjoys training and bonding through structure.

Riley enjoys kids but needs gentle reminders to respect space, especially when she’s excited. Cats don’t faze her at all — she’ll sniff politely and move on if they’re not interested.

She can live with another dog but will need slow, thoughtful introductions and time to warm up. Riley is currently working through some situational food guarding and leash frustration when seeing other dogs. Important note: these behaviors were not observed in her previous Texas foster home and may be related to recent transitions. With patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement, she’s already showing progress and learning that she’s safe.

To help set her (and you!) up for success, Riley’s adopters will receive a FREE session with a trainer to go over what she’s learning and how to continue supporting her journey.

Riley is still learning about the world — but for the right person, she’ll be a fiercely loyal adventure buddy, workout partner, and best friend.

More about this rescue

We are a 501(c)(3) not for profit dog rescue based in Colorado Springs, CO. Our goal is to rescue dogs from high kill shelters in other states and get them adopted into forever homes all along the Front Range and Pikes Peak Region. We are brand new, established in April 2019, and we are an all volunteer organization. We are always in need of donations, either money, much needed dog items like dog beds, kennels, leashes, etc, and loving foster homes. If you can't provide any of these things, we are always in need of people that can help out at events and transport when the dogs come in. We look forward to hearing from you!!
