My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

After spending her 10 years of life in a home, Penny and her sister were surrendered due to no fault of their own.

Penny watched her sister get adopted before even entering the shelter, and was adopted twice after she arrived here, but unfortunately came back to us both times. But its not Pennys fault, at 10 years old, she needs a home where her siblings are calm and will let her do her own thing. This ol lady is over the puppy energy and ready to relax for her golden years.

Penny knows how to walk on a leash and enjoys leisurely strolls to quietly explore the world around her. She would rather watch the world go by than take on a hardcore adventure. Shes already potty trained and crate trained, making her an easy and calm addition to a new home.

Shes already spent several weeks in the shelter, and wed love for this gentle senior to be able to spend her days in a loving home. She is ready to go and waiting at 5001 Fred Wilson Ave, open everyday from 11-6pm.

Their adoption process

1.

Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

With hundreds of pets at the shelter and in foster, we recommend checking our website before visiting in person.

2.

Meet the Pet

We recommend bringing the whole family, including resident dogs, to meet the pet you're interested in adopting to ensure it's a good match.

3.

Sign Adoption Contract

Our adoption team will review the adoption contract with you. Adoption fees are $30 for dogs and $5 for cats unless during a special promo.

Additional adoption info

All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis and must be made in person. As a high-intake shelter, most of the pets that come to us are strays, meaning we have limited background history on the pet, such as health, behavioral or living history. All adoptions include the animal's spay/neuter procedure, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and city license. All adoptions include a 7 day free trial with our training partner, GoodPup to help ease the transition!
