Foster cat`s bio for their adoption profile: Betka was originally adopted out in 2023 but ran away a few months later and has spent the last two years surviving on her own outside. She is very smart and did an excellent job taking care of herself but, as a result she is initially timid and easily scared of new things. This shy lady is ready for a quiet home with warm soft places to sleep and humans to give her unlimited affection on demand. She will make a very loving addition to a patient and calm home.
It takes her a couple of days to trust new people however, once she has warmed up to you she is a bundle of love who always wants to be nearby. When things are calm she will lay out in the open only an arms reach away and if you stand up she will immediately chirp or trill at you to ask for pets. When things are busier, she wants to watch the action without being involved, preferably from a hiding spot where she can feel hidden but still see everything.
She is a very affectionate cat, especially when you allow it to be on her terms. She always wants people to come sit on the floor and pet her. When you sit down she will come near you and ask for pets by arching her back, after a few minutes she will walk away and explore her space but return shortly for more petting. She hasn’t climbed in any laps yet but has shown interest in trying to step onto her foster`s lap. She does not lik

More about this rescue
Since 1996 SCAT Street Cat Rescue's prime focus has been feral cats because of the limited options available for them. TNR is a successful option instead of the traditional trap and kill. The majority of the cats rescued by SCAT, however, are socialized and available for adoption. As the city grows, so to does the need for our services. Adopt, Donate, Volunteer, TODAY!
