Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Percy, a 17-pound scruffy terrier with a tender heart and a whole lot of love just waiting for the right person. Estimated to be 1.5–2 years old, Percy is the kind of Valentine who may arrive a little shy… but give him a minute, and he’ll completely open up and steal your heart. 💘
Percy can be a little nervous in new situations or when meeting new people, but once he realizes he’s safe, he opens up fast and turns into a certified love bug. With reassurance and gentle encouragement, he blossoms beautifully and forms quick relationships with his people and other small dogs.
Percy’s Favorites:
💕 Playing with toys (the squeakier, the better) and chewing on chew sticks
💕 Romping with other small dogs his size
💕 Collecting and displaying his prized possessions… especially chew sticks and small stuffies
💕 Treats, cuddles, and being glued to his person during TV time
💕 Curling up close and sleeping the night away beside you
Percy would love to have another small, playful dog to share life with, but he’d also shine as an only dog as long as he’s included in family activities and gets plenty of one-on-one love.
Percy is doggie-door trained, though if your home doesn’t have one, he’ll just need some structure and gentle reminders while he adjusts. And like many small male dogs, Percy may do a little “this is my space now” marking when he first arrives, a phase that fades quickly once he feels settled and secure.
Percy is joyful, affectionate, and a bit sensitive — we suspect he wasn’t always treated kindly before rescue. But give him patience, kindness, and consistency, and you’ll watch him transform into the sweetest, happiest little companion imaginable. His foster mom says it best: Percy is pure love.
Percy is neutered, vaccinated, current on Heartworm prevention, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $250.
