My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pear is a sweet adult kitty with silky gray fur and a calm, affectionate nature. She doesn't mind being picked up and enjoys gentle cheek rubs from her favorite people. Pear is a social eater who likes a little company at mealtime, and her perfect day includes stretching out in a warm, sunny spot for a cozy nap.

She's already spayed, microchipped, and ready to head home today-all she needs now is a loving family to call her own. Could Pear be your new snuggle buddy?

More about this shelter

Established in 1929, Humane Society Silicon Valley (HSSV) offers quality adoptions, affordable spaying/neutering, vaccinations and microchipping services, pet care services and education programs to enhance the human-animal bond. HSSV operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We are the first organization in the country to meet the guidelines put forth by the Association of Shelter Veterinarians for standards of care for shelter animals: We are the first model shelter.

We are also the first animal community center in the nation to receive Gold LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.

Our mission is to save lives, keep families together, and create a better future for pets and their people.

Our vision is a world where all animals can thrive, all people experience the magic of the human-animal bond, and all families are able to care for their pets.
