My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Gus
Approx. 6 months old | Lab mix (best guess!) | 25 lbs now – likely ~35 lbs full grown
Neutered 1/26

Gus is a sweet, playful boy with a big heart and an even bigger love for his people. He’s a total shadow pup — always close by, always ready to cuddle… and yes, he will sneak onto the bed if given the chance.

Gus’ Best Traits:
LOVES his toys
Big fan of cuddling with his person
Potty trained (thrives on a consistent schedule)
Sleeps through the night with zero accidents
Does well when left in a puppy-proof room (naps quietly all day!)
Knows basic commands
Dog friendly
Would love a fenced backyard
Super excited and friendly when visitors come over

Gus is still learning the world isn’t so scary — new noises and leash walks can make him nervous, but he’s gaining confidence every day. He may bark at passersby (because obviously he’s very important security ), and he’s working hard on not jumping when he gets excited.

Not yet tested: cats and young kids
Likely best with older kids who can help reinforce manners

If you’re looking for a loyal little sidekick who will follow you everywhere and steal your heart (and your spot on the bed), Gus might be your perfect match. (146)

More about this rescue

Buddy’s Second Chance Rescue, Inc. is a 501c3 dog rescue organization and completely foster-based in the Western New York area. We pull dogs and puppies from high-kill rescues all over the country that are on lists to be euthanized. We place them in foster homes until they find their furever homes here in WNY. Every dog that is saved opens up room for another. So in essence two dogs lives are being saved!!
