My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Abilene is a 6-year-old, petite hound mix with the softest heart and the sweetest soul. She truly loves everyone; people, other dogs, and she even tested well with cats. Her personality is gentle, loving, and calm, and it’s no surprise that everyone who meets her falls in love instantly. Abilene came to us with an unusual-looking skin condition, and after thorough testing we discovered the cause: severe itching from a flea allergy. She is currently receiving treatment, but her skin lesions may not completely go away. What will always shine through, though, is the beautiful dog underneath it all. We are hoping someone will look past her skin and see the kind, deserving soul we see, one who is ready to give unconditional love and be a loyal, grateful companion. Abilene has so much love to give, and she’s just waiting for the person who will choose her, exactly as she is
