These unique and gorgeous sisters are 6-month-old Domestic Shorthairs who were part of an unexpected litter. They arrived at the shelter with the hope of finding their forever homes! While they are quite shy, they are also incredibly sweet and curious.
They can`t help but sniff your hand to investigate who you are, slowly warming up to the idea of pets and head scratches. With their strikingly beautiful orange eyes, these two girls will need a little time to fully open up, but they are sure to bond deeply with the right person.
Nuna and Lara are microchipped, vaccinated to age, and available for foster to adopt until they`re scheduled to be spayed at The Babinski Foundation. You can visit them at the shelter Tuesdays through Saturdays from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM or Sundays from 12:00 to 5:00 PM.

If you are adopting a dog, we recommend a dog meet and greet with your current dogs.

Cat and Dog survey may be filled out online at babinskifoundation.org, or in person at the facility.

The staff will review your application! Please bring all necessary documents such as pet lease agreements signed by your landlord.

The Babinski Foundation was established in 2010 by Donald and Elizabeth Babinski owners and founders of Babinski Properties which owns multifamily housing in Minnesota, Florida and South Dakota. He and his wife Elizabeth were working tirelessly to get the animal shelter opened which was their dream, but Donald Babinski passed away August 11th, 2014 before the shelter could open. Elizabeth continued where they left off and the Foundation opened in January 2016 in Pequot Lakes, MN. Elizabeth passed away on November 13th, 2020. Donald and Elizabeth’s dream was finally realized, and Donald and Elizabeth’s surviving family and friends will continue to work hard to fulfill their mission.
