My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Dottie 🌼

Dottie is a sweet senior lady, estimated to be around 12 years old, who is ready to spend her golden years wrapped in comfort and love. She’s a gentle girl who thrives in a calm, quiet environment and is happiest when she’s curled up close to her people, soaking in all the cuddles she can get.

Dottie currently lives in a home with other dogs and cats. While she coexists peacefully, she tends to keep to herself and enjoys having her own cozy space to relax.

This precious girl is considered special needs. Dottie has cataracts and is mostly blind, but that doesn’t stop her from enjoying life. She carefully explores her surroundings and places her full trust in her humans to guide her — or, when in doubt, happily accepts a ride in their arms. Our rescue is currently working closely with our veterinarian to determine the next steps for her eye care.

Though she may be a senior, Dottie’s heart is full of love, and she has so much affection left to give. She’s hoping to find a patient, compassionate home where she can feel safe, cherished, and loved every single day.

Additional adoption info

A home check may be performed when taking the pet home. This is up to the discretion of the rescue founder and may be performed upon her decision. This step will ensure our animals are going into the best possible homes and will never be treated as less than a best friend and companion ever again. We are dedicated to the best possible fit for each animal that comes into our care.

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

We are 100% foster and volunteer run. Therefore, the first step in meeting one of our adoptable pets will be to submit an adoption application by following the link posted above to either our website or directly to our adoption application. Once an adoption application has been approved, we can set up a meet and greet with the applicant and the animal the applicant is interested in. Please allow 24-72 business hours to receive an answer back about your application, as all of our volunteers and fosters have additional jobs outside of the rescue and use their spare time to provide care to these animals in our program.

Adoption events can also be found posted on our Facebook and Instagram pages located under the name "Happy Tails Canine Rescue". These events are open to the public and do not require an adoption application in advance to meet any of our pets that will be attending.
