Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Matilda is a sweet girl who's currently in a loving foster home and ready to start her next chapter. She takes a little time to warm up to new people, but a few tasty treats go a long way in winning her heart. Once she feels comfortable, she becomes a loyal little shadow who loves following her people from room to room. She's non-reactive toward strangers, dogs walking by outside, and even cats, making her a nice, calm presence in the home. She was gentle and curious when meeting a small Yorkie.
Matilda is still learning the ropes with leash training. In unfamiliar or noisy places, she can get a little nervous for a moment to walk, so she'll do best with a patient adopter who can help her build confidence at her own pace. At home, she enjoys sleeping in and will happily let you know when it's time for breakfast!
She's very treat-motivated, loves chasing tennis balls and squeaky toys, and is currently learning how to retrieve. She also seems to really enjoy water! While she appreciates a soft bed, she's just as likely to nap in the silliest positions and cozy corners around the house.
Matilda traveled all the way from Fresno, California to start her new life. Her adoption includes 3 weeks of post-adoption support and resources to help both of you settle in successfully.
If you're looking for a gentle, loving companion who just needs a little patience and kindness to blossom, Matilda may be the perfect match.
