My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi. Hello. It’s me. Dill.

Yes, that Dill. The one you’ve all been calling a boy for the past six weeks. Plot twist! Turns out I’m a girl. A whole surprise reveal. A true case of mistaken identity. Honestly? I would like to say I was offended… but I’ve been far too busy doing Extremely Important Things like playing, cuddling, and generally living my best tiny puppy life to notice. 💁‍♀️ While the humans were having their “wait…hold on…oh” moment, I was over here being sweet, playful, and absolutely thriving. I am, at my core, a sweet and playful girl with a heart made entirely of sunshine and soft puppy intentions. I love people. I love dogs. I love being wherever the fun is happening — and if the fun isn’t happening yet, don’t worry, I will personally get it started. I am equal parts cuddle bug and playful goof. I’m affectionate without being clingy, playful without being overwhelming, and sweet in that way that makes people talk in baby voices and say things like, “She is PERFECT,” which… yes. Correct.

So, shall we dive into the facts? I am six weeks old. Nine pounds. Female. Pyr/Lab mix (allegedly), based on my mom Rosemary’s very respectable looks. As for my dad? Mystery man. Legend. Folk hero. Based on my size and my siblings’ absolute commitment to growing like weeds, we’re assuming he was not only devastatingly handsome but also possibly pony-adjacent. No proof. Just vibes and math. Mom clocks in around 72 lbs, so the humans are guessing we’ll land somewhere in the 60–70ish pound range. Guessing being the key word here. They could be spot on. They could be wildly incorrect. Honestly, that’s half the fun. If you adopt me, congratulations — you’ve signed up for a long-term game of “What Breed Is She?” and “How Big Is She Actually Going To Get?” Expect daily debates, light wagering, and at least one spreadsheet created. What we do know is this: I came into the world in foster care after my mama was rescued off the urgent list while very pregnant (10/10 timing, Mom). I have known nothing but love, safety, warm naps, and people telling me I’m perfect since literally day one. As a result, I am a happy, confident little nugget who believes the world is kind, laps are plentiful, and playtime should happen immediately and often. So if you’re ready for a puppy who comes with mystery genetics, a strong cuddle game, and the joy of watching a “small baby” slowly turn into a very large best friend — hi. It’s me. Dill. ✨ six weeks old, nine pounds, zero doubts about my own excellence ✨

Other dogs? Oh, I’m delighted you asked. I am playful, enthusiastic, and fully convinced that every dog I meet is already my friend — they just haven’t realized it yet. I approach new dogs with the confidence of someone who assumes group play was planned specifically for me. Big dogs? Friends. Small dogs? Friends. Dogs who look confused about my existence? Future friends. Basically, if there’s another dog around, I’m in. Cats? Ah yes. The great unknown. I suspect I would approach a cat the same way I approach everything else in life — politely enthusiastic, tail wagging, and fully convinced we could be friends if they’d just hear me out for five seconds. Kids? Oh. Absolutely yes. I would love to have an energetic kid of my very own to play with forever. I just don’t know that yet because no one has formally sat me down and explained the concept. But based on my personality, the math is mathing. I am playful, affectionate, and fully committed to the idea that playtime should be frequent and enthusiastic. A kid who wants to run, laugh, toss toys, and be my best friend for life? That sounds like an excellent arrangement. I bring the wiggles and loyalty. They bring the energy and snacks. Everyone wins. Obviously, I’m still a baby learning my manners and growing my brain cells one day at a time — but with proper supervision and guidance, I would thrive with a kid who’s ready for a puppy sidekick.

Allow me to introduce my personality, since it’s honestly one of my best features. I am playful in the “let’s do something fun right now” kind of way and cuddly in the “I will melt directly into you like I belong there” kind of way. I love toys, I love people, and I especially love my mama. Basically, if you’re looking for a puppy who wants to play hard, cuddle harder, and form a deep emotional bond with her favorite person — hi. It’s me. Energy level? I’d like to formally submit an 8 out of 10 — and I stand by that rating. I am definitely one of the higher-energy models. I play with enthusiasm, I move with purpose, and when I’m awake, I am awake. Toys will be engaged. Friends will be recruited. Wiggles will occur. That said, when I power down? I power down. I sleep hard. Like, out-cold, fully recharging my batteries for the next round of fun. No half-measures here — I believe in balance. Go big, then nap like a professional.

Let’s talk about expectations — yours, not mine.
I am a baby. A literal infant with paws. Which means my future family will need to take on some very important responsibilities like potty training, socialization, basic training, and puppy-proofing. You will be the one teaching me where to potty, how to be a polite citizen, and which things are toys versus “absolutely not.” I will do my part by being eager, smart, and extremely cute while learning. Team effort. Growth mindset. Mutual commitment. So if you’re ready to guide, teach, and set me up for success — I promise to reward you with progress, affection, and a lifetime of loyalty.
✨ tiny student, big potential, humans in charge of the syllabus ✨

So anyway — if you’ve read all of this and thought, “Yes. That one. That is my dog,” then congratulations, you have excellent taste, and I think you are awesome. BUT. You do, in fact, need to fill out an adoption application at https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app. This is not optional. This is the part where you prove you are serious about me so the nice humans can send it to my foster family. Bureaucracy (anyone know what this actually means? The humans told me to use this word) is annoying, yes, but I promise I am worth the mild inconvenience. Also important housekeeping notes: I will need to be picked up in Broken Arrow, and I cannot go home until after February 24th. I know. Tragic. I’m devastated too. But rules are rules and I am busy being responsibly adorable until then.

So go ahead. Fill out the app. Make it official. I’ll be here — playing, growing, and waiting patiently (ish) to meet my forever people.

Love,
Dill
