My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Johnny is a sweet, playful, loving labish mix who can begin hearworm treatment down south if we can find him a foster or adopter.  Once we have someone committed for him, he can begin treatment and come to NJ in 6 weeks.

Oh, Johnny.
You know that friend who’s calm, polite, and quietly hilarious once you actually talk to them? That’s Johnny in dog form. He’s the kind of guy people walk past, not realizing he’s secretly the total package—handsome, well-mannered, thoughtful, and just waiting for someone to notice.

Johnny’s basically the definition of a gentleman. He sits nicely, walks politely, listens carefully, and somehow manages to make your stress level drop just by being around. He’s smart but humble, affectionate but not clingy, and has a soft spot for kind voices and gentle pats.
He’s not the dog who’s going to jump up and demand attention. He’s the one who just quietly leans in, as if to say, “Hey… I’m here if you need me.”

Johnny doesn’t want much—just a cozy spot, a loving person, and maybe a squeaky toy or two (a gentleman still likes to have some fun). In return, he’ll give you loyalty, peace, and that pure kind of love that sneaks up on you until you realize you can’t imagine life without him.

He’s not overlooked because he’s ordinary—he’s overlooked because he’s modest. But whoever chooses Johnny? They’re in for something extraordinary.

Buddy is fixed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines.  His adoption fee is $450.

Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training   prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home.

Additional adoption info

We require an application. After reviewing the application, your home sounds suitable for the personality of the animal you are looking for, then a home check and a meeting is set up. For our rescue animals an adoption donation is required. All our rescue animals are up to date on shots, heartworm tested or on preventative, dewormed frontlined and have a microchip.

More about this rescue

Wag On Inn Rescue, A NJ recognized 501(C)3 organization, located in Freehold, NJ, is a small group of dedicated volunteers, trying to rehome dogs and cats. We have a variety of animals looking for their forever home. The animals are worked with individually to be socialized with other animals and with people. Some of the dogs are obedience trained and housebroken. Special care is also taken in working with animals on basic house manners. We have two types of ways we help the animals. One is our rescue program, where we pull animals from shelters and they stay with us until adopted, we also have a "referal program" where we help owners of pets try to find them new homes. with this program, the pets stay with their owners until a new home is found, and adopted from the owner.
