Moana made a big journey from Mexico to Minnesota, and now she’s learning what it means to feel safe and loved—and what winter is. While she doesn’t love the cold, she’s starting to get used to it and bravely taking it all in stride.
This sweet girl has a gentle, soulful presence and bonds quickly with her people. She’s a bit of a velcro dog once she trusts you. Moana is mostly potty trained, quiet, and walks beautifully on a leash. She’s friendly and kind, but still a little scared of new things and can be skittish in unfamiliar situations, so she’ll do best with a patient, calm home that can help her build confidence at her own pace. She is house trained and does very well in her enclosure when she’s home alone.
She’s curious about toys and clearly wants to play, even if she hasn’t quite figured it out yet—watching her discover that joy will be very rewarding. Moana has been neutral around other dogs so far and seems to appreciate the presence and energy of calm, confident dogs who can help her feel more secure.

Our adoption process involves completing a one-page adoption application. Applications are processed within 48 hours.
Adoption fees for cats/kittens are $150.00. All cats/kittens have been wormed, altered, tested for feline leukemia, given age-appropriate vaccinations, and are microchipped.
Adoption fees for dogs/puppies are $350.00 All dogs/puppies have been wormed, altered, tested for heart worm, given age-appropriate vaccinations, and are microchipped.
We also offer our Senior for Senior program matching senior animals to people over the age of 63. Adoption fees are waived for this program.

Based in Rochester MN, the organization is totally driven by volunteers.
Camp Companion is dedicated to providing low-cost spay and neuter services for feral, farm and stray companion animals. The organization is funded solely by donations, fundraisers, grants, and adoption fees. All funds we receive are used for veterinary expenses and the cost of care incurred for the animals waiting for their forever homes.
Through our spay / neuter efforts, we encounter kittens and stray domestic cats that need rescue services and a forever home. We have no shelter, but rely on foster homes to care for these rescued pets. Every animal we offer for adoption is spayed or neutered.
