My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Elle, Nancy, and Joy! Elle, Nancy, and Joy arrived together at Butte Humane Society and are now each looking for loving homes of their own. While they are not bonded and do not need to be adopted together, they share a similar background and are all ready to start their next chapter. Based on their appearance, we believe they may be Shih Tzu, Poodle, and/or Lhasa Apso mixes; however, breed identification is an educated guess and is based solely on visible characteristics, not genetic testing. Elle is approximately 3 years old and weighs about 14 pounds. She is affectionate, calm, and enjoys gentle companionship. Elle would be a wonderful match for someone looking for a relaxed, loving dog who enjoys being close to her people. Nancy is about 1.5 years old and weighs roughly 15 pounds. She is on the shy side and feels most confident when she has another dog to look to for reassurance. Nancy would do best in a home with a friendly, confident canine companion who can help her feel safe as she continues to build confidence. Joy (short for Joyce) is also around 1.5 years old and weighs about 12 pounds. Joy arrived at the shelter with a severely matted coat and was clearly very uncomfortable. Despite this, she was incredibly patient and well-mannered during grooming, showing just how gentle and resilient she is. With her coat now on the mend, Joy is ready to move forward feeling comfortable and cared for. All three dogs will require regular grooming as a lifelong commitment. Long-haired dogs need consistent brushing several times a week to prevent painful matting, along with routine professional grooming every 6–8 weeks. Keeping up with coat care helps prevent skin issues, discomfort, and stress, and it’s an important part of maintaining their overall health and happiness. If you’re prepared for the ongoing grooming needs and are looking for a small companion with a sweet personality, Elle, Nancy, or Joy may be the perfect addition to your home. Elle, Nancy, and Joy are available for adoption at Butte Humane Society 📍 13391 Garner Lane, Chico, CA 📞 530-343-7917 🌐 buttehumane.org Come meet them and see which one might be the right fit for your family—they’re each ready to be loved. 🐾💕

All dogs that are adopted from Butte Humane Society come microchipped, spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccines, placed on preventions for heartworm, and flea and tick-borne illnesses. Come down to Butte Humane Society and meet your next family member today!
