All pets adopted from the shelter are vaccinated and altered prior to adoption. Dogs are microchipped, cats may be chipped for an additional charge

As part of the parish government, our Animal Control division holds a unique and vital role. We operate at the intersection of public safety, animal welfare, and community health. Our responsibilities include:

Enforcing Laws – We serve as a law enforcement agency, upholding ordinances that protect both animals and the people who care for them.

Safeguarding Public Health – We work to prevent the spread of zoonotic diseases and ensure safe human-animal interactions throughout the parish.
