My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Oakley - affectionately known as “Okie Bear”!

OAKLEY as found in the country a little beat up, had a few scratches, and was a little skinny with ribs showing. With some TLC he has recovered a lot since then and is doing great and is now in perfect health.

Oakley is a gentle soul who adores people and gets along well with other dogs. He’s been wonderful with kids and has shown a friendly, peace-making temperament even around pushy or dominant dogs. He is very smart, smart enough to let himself out the front door if it’s unlocked and he learns quickly. He is doing great with potty training, can be left loose in the home without issue, and appreciates having safe chew toys to keep him busy. He enjoys walks and is improving on leash each day.

Oakley’s favorite thing in the world is being close to his humans. He’s a true cuddler who loves resting his head on your lap or shoulder and soaking up every bit of affection. He would thrive in a home where he can be loved, included, and given the attention he deserves.

This sweet, loyal boy has so much love to give, and he’s more than ready to become someone’s cherished companion. Oakley is waiting for a family who will adore him as much as he’ll adore them.

More about this rescue

A Lab for Life (ALL) provides a compassionate life-line to abandoned dogs that includes a safe haven, medical care by a licensed veterinarian, nutrition (food) and a fur-ever family through adoption. ALL promotes the humane treatment of animals in the community.

ALL was founded in July 2020 by a group of dog advocates in central Oklahoma and
Northeastern US after some had been volunteering with an out of state rescue for over 5 years. That experience solidified a local organization was needed. ALL formed to rescue as many stray, homeless and owner surrendered dogs as possible by partnering with many state-wide shelters and rescue operations. In addition to transferring homeless dogs from the shelters, fostering them in temporary homes and adopting them out, we also provide behavioral and medical resources to people who are considering surrendering their dog in an effort to keep the dog in their homes and out of the shelter/rescue system.
ALL operates under the 5 freedoms for animal welfare.
We are a brand new organization and welcome donations!
