Galaxy Fern is a strikingly beautiful, galaxy-spotted tuxedo with a coat dusted in little white “stars.” She’s a sweet girl who warms up into an affectionate, chatty companion once she feels safe. She loves making biscuits and has a gentle, non-confrontational nature, especially with other cats.
Galaxy Fern does well with feline companions, though she’s very submissive and would rather give way than compete. She will happily let another cat steal her food rather than stand up for herself, which is something her future home should be mindful of. This softness is part of her charm, but it also could explain why she’s petite at just 6 pounds, despite being a young 3 years old.
She came to us after being trapped just before a major snowstorm swept through many of our colonies. Galaxy Fern was one of the lucky ones we were able to get indoors before it was too late. Her foster mom has carried a lot of emotion around that storm and the cats she didn’t have space to bring in, and Galaxy Fern represents one life that was changed forever because someone tried.
We would love to find Galaxy Fern a home that will send her foster mom updates so she can always remember the impact she made on this special little cat’s life!

Whiskered Away is a small, volunteer-run 501(c)(3) rescue rooted in Philadelphia and built entirely on heart. Founded in 2026 by longtime animal advocates, we came together after seeing too many cats - and too many caregivers - falling through the cracks.
