Chester’s top hobbies
1. Attention/pets/lap cat
2. Food/pretending to be starving
3. Beefing with inanimate objects
Chester was trapped for TNR (trap neuter release), but the moment he realized warmth & food were involved, it was clear he was far too friendly to be sent back out into the cold. While the snow stayed outside, Chester chose the soft life and honestly, he earned it.
Chester is Mr. Personality wrapped in fur. He wants to be involved in everything at all times., it doesn’t matter what he’s in the middle of. If you’re nearby, he’s determined to be the center of attention. Photos are difficult because personal space is simply not part of his vocabulary. He’d much rather climb onto you, lean into you, or purr directly in your face.
He’s a purring machine, a snuggly lap cat, and an enthusiastic eater and doesn’t have a picky bone in his body. He also has a flair for the dramatic, occasionally offering a completely neutral, low effort hiss at inanimate objects weather they make a weird noise or just get in his clumsy way, just to keep things interesting. It’s less aggression and more commentary. Chester has opinions. Despite his flair for drama, Chester does well with feline companions and would be happy sharing his home with feline companion, but he wouldn’t mind being your one and only either!
Chester traded snowbanks for blankets and survival mode for snuggles, and he’s not looking back. He’s ready for a forever home where his big personality, constant companionship, and theatrical tendencies will be appreciated. If you’re looking for a warm winter rescue who brings equal parts affection and entertainment, Chester is your guy.

More about this rescue
Whiskered Away is a small, volunteer-run 501(c)(3) rescue based in Philadelphia. Founded in 2026 by longtime animal advocates, we focus on Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), care for community cats, ethical rescue, and education. We started because we saw gaps in support for both animals and the people caring for them. We are small but mighty, growing intentionally, and always in need of volunteers, fosters, and donations to keep this work going.
