My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Rocket! This sweet girl came to us with her brother from a rough start, and she’s still a little shy around humans but don’t let that fool you. Rocket adores other cats and would do best paired with a social feline friend to help her learn that humans aren’t all that scary.
Rocket thrives when she has high spaces to perch and people-watch from a distance, giving her the confidence to explore at her own pace. Her foster recommends keeping her in a small, quiet area at first: many adopters find a bathroom for the first few weeks is perfect for helping a shy kitty feel safe and secure.
When she’s comfortable, Rocket loves food, treats, toys, cat trees… and drinking fountains are her absolute favorite! She’s looking for a patient, loving adopter who will give her time to trust and grow into the confident, affectionate kitty she’s meant to be.

More about this rescue

Whiskered Away is a small, volunteer-run 501(c)(3) rescue based in Philadelphia. Founded in 2026 by longtime animal advocates, we focus on Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), care for community cats, ethical rescue, and education. We started because we saw gaps in support for both animals and the people caring for them. We are small but mighty, growing intentionally, and always in need of volunteers, fosters, and donations to keep this work going.
