Mittens is a 12-year-old cat that has lost everything that is important to her. Her person sadly passed away, and she was very attached to her. We have been told that she would sleep in bed with her mom and was very happy with her home life. Then all of a sudden, her world turned upside down and she found herself here at the shelter. If the photos look sad it is because she is sad and missing her home and mom. For the most part she stays in the hidey house and grumbles when we approach her. Mittens will need a quiet home with a cat savvy person that can help her overcome her grief and her fear. Please share her story with others and together we can find her a home.
Cats can live up to 20 years, you need to consider this when adopting and choosing the age of the cat you wish to adopt to give them a lifelong, stable home as you are making a commitment for the lifetime of the animal.
If you would like to meet Mittens, please go to our website and fill out an online application www.sarlnh.org
