My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Poppi vs. Olipop -- with these two cats, you don't have to choose a favorite! Poppi is the sweet and calm member of the duo, identifiable by the unique polka dots on her legs. She purrs the minute you start giving her belly rubs and chin scratches. While she can take a minute to warm up to you, it's a worthwhile wait. Olipop is the adventurous and spunky girl with a gorgeous brown tabby coat. She absolutely loves playtime and can amuse herself by thoroughly exploring every nook and cranny she discovers. Olipop lets out the cutest little meow to alert you that she's there--will that she would love some attention. While these two kitties are not likely to be from the same litter, they are as thick as thieves with one another and would love to go home with each other.

More about this rescue

Paws and Claws Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the Chicagoland area dedicated to preventing, and alleviating the suffering caused by abuse, neglect, and overpopulation. We help dogs and cats mentally and physically heal, and give them a chance to find love, a full life, and a forever home.

Our focus is on rescuing orphaned neonatal kittens, nursing kittens with their feral mothers, under-socialized cats, and dogs who have been at Chicago Animal Care and Control for too long. We see ourselves as the crossing guards for these vulnerable animals, helping them get from their past, whether that be from a traumatic home, a kennel, or a euthanasia list, to a safe and kind human who will love them.
