My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

** Tune in to our Facebook page (Great Pyrenees Rescue Society - GPRS) every Sunday at 3pm CT to see our dogs LIVE!  You can also find previous episodes on our YouTube channel (@gprspyrs). If you would like a specific dog to be featured on our show, please email us at info@greatpyreneesrescuesociety.org. **

Meet Lexi, a dainty little Great Pyrenees girl with a soft heart and a playful sparkle. Though she’s on the smaller side for the breed, her sweetness more than makes up for it. She gets along beautifully with other dogs, but she wouldn’t be a good fit for a home with ducks or chickens. Born around May 2025, Lexi’s world revolves around her brother, Dexter. The two were found together after being left behind by their previous owner, and in that uncertain time, they became each other’s comfort and safety. That bond is everything to Lexi. When she’s playing and suddenly realizes Dexter isn’t nearby, she’ll stop mid-fun to rush back and make sure he’s there. Her devotion is quiet, constant, and deeply touching. Because of this bond, Lexi and Dexter must be adopted together. When Lexi isn’t checking on her brother, she’s busy enjoying life. Playtime is one of her favorite things, and she has a delightful habit of deciding that almost anything can be a toy (in a playful, non-destructive way!). Cardboard boxes, gloves, shoes—Lexi sees possibility everywhere. With proper chew toys, she happily channels that playful curiosity into fun. Lexi absolutely adores people. Affection is her love language, and she thrives on cuddles, pets, and being close. She may jump up when she’s excited to greet you, but she’s already learning to sit politely instead—she just gets so happy she can’t always contain it. Lexi is gentle, playful, and full of quiet devotion. Lexi and Dexter are ready for a home where they’ll never be left behind again, where they can continue to share their story.
