Hi, I’m Luke! Here is a little info about me:
Breed: Jindo/Spitz Mix
Age: 3 years
Gender: Male
Weight: 29 lb
Highlight(s): Good with other dogs, affectionate, social
Life started out on the streets, spending a few months finding food and safe places to rest. A stop at the city pound could have been the end, but some kind people stepped in and gave a second chance. Now there’s been a long wait at a boarding facility — about a year — still hoping for a forever home.
Being social comes naturally, and meeting new people is usually easy. Scratches and belly rubs are absolute favorites, though being picked up isn’t preferred. Warming up happens quickly, and affection is gladly given to friendly humans.
Time around other dogs has helped build confidence. New dogs can still feel a little stressful at first, but comfort comes more easily with similar-sized or smaller pups. When a good match happens, a play bow is the favorite way to say, “Let’s be friends!”
Moderate energy makes for a great balance — outdoor adventures are fun, followed by calm time to relax at home. Walks are full of curiosity and exploring. A little leash pulling can happen, but staying connected with a handler comes along nicely. Quiet habits mean barking is rare. No escape tendencies have been shown, and being alone hasn’t caused any separation anxiety. House training is about 90% complete.
A sweet, resilient boy with lots of love to give, still waiting patiently for the family who will make forever finally feel real.
I get along with:
Dogs: Yes
Cats: Unsure
Kids: Yes
Energy level: Moderate energy level. Enjoys outdoor activities and like to rest/calm at home after walks.
Fears: Non observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition.
Leash skills: Yes. Please be prepared to continue training.
House trained: 90% house trained. Please be paitient and prepare to assist me learn where to go in my new home.
Health notes: I have been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver.
Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.
Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.

As adopters of overseas dogs will be taking their dog home from the airport, they have a couple of weeks to decide if the dog is a fit.
