My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

🐾 Meet Charlie!

The Adventure Buddy You’ve Been Waiting For

Charlie is the rare "unicorn dog" who is just as happy in a construction trailer as he is on a subway or a cozy sofa. If you’re looking for a companion who is equal parts hilarious, athletic, and affectionate, Charlie is your guy.

🏆 Why Charlie is a Total Catch:
The Ultimate Commuter: From car rides to camping trips, Charlie is highly adaptable. He’s a seasoned traveler and a literal "star of the office."

A+ Manners: He is fully house-trained and will politely go to the door when he needs out. Best of all? He has never been destructive—your furniture is safe with him.

Social & Sweet: Charlie is a lover, not a fighter. He’s great with other dogs, reliable off-leash, and has been wonderful with children (niece and nephew tested!).

A Real Character: He’s a world-class snuggle buddy with a goofy side. Just a heads-up: when he gets really excited, he might try to "befriend" your favorite throw pillow!

🩺 Health & Training
Smart & Eager: Very responsive to training and loves to learn.

Vetted: Fully up-to-date on vaccinations.

Fresh Breath: Had a full professional dental cleaning in September 2025.

More about this shelter

At Darbster Rescue, our goal is to place kittens, cats, and dogs with great, forever homes in New England. The pets are primarily from South Florida and other southern states where the euthanasia rates are very high. Our shelters are in New Hampshire which has a strong demand for pets relative to supply and where shelters like ours are strictly no kill operations. Our animals will go to their new homes spayed or neutered, UTD on shots and a clean bill of health from FL and NH. We are here to help everyone look for the perfect match for themselves and their family.
