Hermès arrived at the Animal Rescue Network in July 2025 after being found outside in Montreal North. After his quarantine at the shelter, we detected that Hermès had feline leukemia (FeLV). For more information about FeLV: Feline Leukemia Virus | Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine He was put in a foster family in order to not spread his virus at the shelter.
Don't be fooled by his grumpy demeanor: Hermès is a bundle of love. An extremely affectionate cat, he loves being around his humans and never misses an opportunity to curl up next to them. A true shadow, he follows you everywhere and always chooses a spot close by, even when he's not asking for attention. Sociable and confident, Hermès is not afraid of strangers, even when there are many of them, and is comfortable around new people. Playful and expressive, he alternates between bouts of “zoomies,” playing with his balls, or fishing rod games if you invite him to play. He is also a big fan of cardboard boxes of all kinds. And be warned: he is very greedy, has a formidable internal clock, and will remind you that it's almost mealtime... with great conviction!
Hermès is an incredibly adaptable cat. He feels just as comfortable in a lively home as he does in a quieter environment, knowing how to slip away quietly when he feels the need. Curious and observant, he loves to sit by the windows to watch the outside world, without ever trying to escape. He is ideal for adopters who work outside the home, as he copes very well with being alone during the day, while thoroughly enjoying being reunited with his family in the evening.
Hermès dreams of a loving home where he can share his daily life, especially at the end of the day, a special time for long cuddle sessions. He is looking for humans who can offer him affection, stability, and... meals served at set times (a non-negotiable point for this big foodie who cannot regulate himself).
A certified expert in purr therapy, Hermès loves to settle down on your lap to spread calm and well-being. Very clean, he doesn't scratch furniture and sheds very little hair. A word of warning, however: never leave food within reach of his paws... Hermès is as agile as he is determined when it comes to treats.
Hermès would not be a good match for a family with young children. Hermès an adult cat and he carries FeLV so the adoption fees for him are $100. He is sterilized, vaccinated and microchipped. He is negativefor the feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) but positive for the feline leukaemia virus (FeLV). Health insurances are offered for the first 6 weeks following adoption. You will also have access to the support of the adoption team for as long as you need it. You will also have access to a free 30 minutes video consultation within thr first month following adoption with our cat behaviour consultant FelineGood ( https://www.felinegood.ca ).
