My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

02/10/2026

Sahara is an ABR return looking for a new home.

Hi! My name is Sahara! I am a beautiful 2.5 year old white boxer girl that is an adoption return due to developing anxiety and no longer being dog friendly with the other boxer in the home. I am said to be active, smart, protective, noisy, playful, affectionate, and nervous! I am deaf, but do not let that make you shy away because I am a smart girl and know hand signals! I have also started taking anxiety medicine to help me so it would be best to continue that in my future home. Because of my inability to get along with the dog in the home, it's important that I am the only dog in my next home for everyone's safety. I do not live with a cat so it is uncertain if I am feline friendly. There are only college aged kids in my home but I have had exposure to family member's children and other children and I have always been good with them! When it comes to humans, I love them and will follow them around and then wait for them to sit down so I can lay in their lap! I am house trained, crate trained, doggy door trained, and know hand signals.  I eat Purina Pro Plan salmon and rice food.  At night, I start out sleeping on the humans' bed but then will get into my own bed. If the humans must be away, I am a bit busy initially but will settle after some time. I tend to entertain myself by going outside and being with the squirrels. When outside I have good behavior and do not dig or attempt to jump fences/gates! Some of my favorite things are red toys, bouncy toys, tough toys to chew, attention, love, riding in the car, and human touch! My current owner says I am a sweet girl that would do best with owners that are home more than away, provide me with consistent routine, and will allow me next to them at all times! If you think I would make a great addition to your family contact the rescue today and give them my name because I am waiting to meet you!
