Meet Skip
Looking for a loyal love this Valentine’s Day? Let us introduce you to Skip, a handsome 1 year, 7 month old black and tan hound from West Virginia who’s ready to steal your heart forever.
Not much is known about Skip’s start in life, but he’s blossomed into the ultimate cuddle companion. This smooth, short haired, low shed sweetheart will happily curl up in your lap, give kisses, and gently “boosh” your leg when he wants affection. He’s truly a professional couch stealer weighing in at 52 pounds.
When he’s not cuddling, Skip loves to zoom, wrestle, and tug with his canine brother. He’s great at knowing when it’s time to slow down and rest—usually with a pile of toys on the couch and the cutest little snores. His favorites include squeaky stuffies, which he proudly gathers before nap time. It is highly encouraged that his new home have a playful canine ready to welcome him.
Skip is working hard on his training:
He continues to succeed with potty training with treats for positive behavior.
He’s learning crate training (with a few “ahwoooos” when he misses you) when his foster parents are in the shower or out running errands.
He’s practicing sit, lay, and learning his name.
This scent-loving boy follows his nose wherever it leads, especially when he’s head deep in the snow, so don’t leave treats in your pockets, he will find them! He sleeps through the night and handles grooming like a champ, barely noticing nail trims, ear cleanings, and even allowing teeth brushing.
Skip does best when fed separately and without high-value bones or antlers around other dogs, as he’s a bit too enthusiastic about partaking in… everyone’s food. His cat compatibility is currently unknown.
Most importantly, Skip is full of love. He bonds beautifully with his foster mom, dad, and his 11-year-old human brother, proving he’s ready to be someone’s loyal Valentine for life.
So if you’re ready to let this “masked bandit” sneak into your heart and leave paw prints all over it, Skip is waiting to meet you.
Adopt Skip and make this Valentine’s Day the start of your forever love story.
Skip is neutered, micropchipped, up to date on all of his vaccines, has had flea/tick heartworm and dewormer preventatives and is ready for his forever home.
Skip will be available for adoption on or after February 15th at www.pawsacrosspittsburgh.com/adopt
