My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Get ready to meet Whisker Bill! Whisker Bill may look a little rough around the edges, but don’t let that fool you - this incredibly handsome tuxedo boy is as sweet as can be. He’s had a rough start and came into our care with another cat, and despite the unknowns of his past, Whisker Bill has shown just how brave and affectionate he still is! He warms up to new people quickly, especially when gentle pets are involved, and is more than happy to soak up affection once he feels safe. With his striking good looks and soft, loving nature, Whisker Bill is ready to leave his past behind and start a new chapter. Come meet this charming boy and see for yourself just how special he is!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
