Harper is skin and bones.
You can see every rib. Every hip bone. Every place life has failed her.
She didn’t get this way overnight. She has been hungry for a long time.
And still… she is gentle.
Despite everything her body shows, her heart is soft. She allows touch. She leans in carefully, like she wants to trust but isn’t sure she’s allowed to yet. She is not aggressive. She is not broken. She is simply starved — for food, for safety, for love.
Right now Harper doesn’t need much.
She needs groceries.
She needs warmth.
She needs someone who will whisper, “You’re safe now.”
An emaciated dog in a shelter is at extreme risk. She doesn’t have extra weight to lose. She doesn’t have reserves. Stress alone can take her down.
She should be in a quiet home with soft blankets and small, frequent meals — not waiting behind kennel bars wondering what happens next.
Harper didn’t deserve what happened to her.
But she does deserve what happens next.
