My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Frankie is a 13-month-old, medium-sized mixed-breed girl bursting with happy, wiggly joy and love for her people. She’s ready for a fresh start and a bright future in a loving home.

The former owner shared that Frankie may be a mix of Walker Hound, Cane Corso, and Labrador Retriever, giving her a wonderful blend of athleticism, loyalty, and affection. Frankie also has a beautiful silver coat with white markings and a sleek, short coat that truly makes her shine. If you sit down, don’t be surprised if this sweet girl climbs right into your lap for kisses and eye contact — Frankie is deeply people-oriented and loves being close. Her tail rarely stops wagging, and her cheerful personality shines wherever she goes.

Frankie’s favorite things include tennis balls, frisbees, plush and squeaky toys, rope toys, and games of tug and fetch. She’s an active young dog who enjoys walks, jogs, swimming, car rides, and then happily settling in for some cozy couch-potato time with her favorite humans.

Frankie is a smart, sensitive girl who is still learning about the world — especially other dogs. She has begun doing buddy walks at the shelter and is already showing wonderful progress. With continued positive experiences, short greetings, and calm guidance, Frankie is learning good dog-to-dog skills and growing more confident every day. Our team will be happy to talk with you about how to continue helping her succeed.

Frankie is affectionate, playful, eager to connect, and full of potential. She’s looking for a loving home ready to enjoy her fun spirit while continuing to guide her as she grows into the amazing dog she is meant to be.

If a meet is scheduled, please bring your whole human and dog household so we can help ensure a great match for everyone.

If Frankie sounds like your kind of girl, please fill out an Adoption Interest Form at upaws.org to get the ball rolling.

More about this shelter

We are a local non-profit organization run and staffed by your neighbors. We make decisions on caring for homeless, unwanted, abandoned and abused domestic animals based on what we believe is best for them. We have no affiliation with any larger group and we receive no funding from any larger group that might influence our decisions or actions.

We advocate only for the animals in our care to help them find their forever home with you.

UPAWS does not receive operating funds from any governmental agency. We rely on donations from our neighbors and friends to make our efforts possible. We save consistently 98% of the animals who come to us – which is an award-winning success story. We want to educate everyone on proper animal care so there soon won’t be the three percent who come to us too sick or wounded to be saved. It’s your support that makes this dream possible.
