HOW TO ADOPT: This dog is available for adoption by appointment. To schedule a time to meet her, please email meetme@arl-iowa.org.
---
- Came from a situation where she did not get the socialization and exposure to new people and environments that dogs typically get from puppyhood; because of this she startles easily and will require time, patience and the understanding that she may prefer a more "low-key" life
- Shy at first, but once she is comfortable with you, she will greet you with kisses and big tail wags and may even want to crawl into your lap
- Would sleep in bed with her previous owner
- Really opens up around other dogs - she has become great friends with a dog in her foster home - and would benefit from a confident dog friend in her new home
- Young, noisy or busy children will likely be too much for her right now, so she's looking for a more mature home
- We don't know her history with cats
All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)
The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
