My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Bob, a short haired bobtail male about 2 years old (DOB about 2/1/24). He is super friendly and just wants to be petted constantly (see the video). He is vocal and talks to you. He is afraid of large dogs right now. He was showed up a few weeks ago at a farm in Andersonville injured. The vet thinks he was attacked by a dog or coyote based on the injuries on his legs and chest. He didn’t seem bothered by the little dogs in the waiting room at the vet. He also seems to get along ok with other cats. He CRAVES attention and would be a great lap cat. He would be an amazing companion for an older person or someone who works from home where he would get lots of attention. He has been around (and did fine with) a 13-year old child, but has not been around young kids so far. He uses cardboard scratchers and is not destructive. He is very treat oriented. He just pretty much wants you to sit with him, talk to him and pet him. He has been tested (neg) for feline leukemia/aids, vaccinated for distemper and rabies, wormed, had advantage for fleas, been vet checked and neutered. He is a large cat weighing more than 14 pounds. If interested in this cutie pie, please contact Holly at 865-671-4564 (land line) or hhfrey1@tds.net

We are a small, private feline-only rescue group dedicated to the rescue, care and placement of homeless cats and kittens. The majority of our cats and kittens come from high kill shelters. Through our application and interview process, we strive to make the 'purrfect' match to insure a loving, lifelong home for those in our care. We do NOT receive funding from any national organization, federal or state governments.

The fee includes testing for feline leukemia and aids, the series of distemper vaccines, the rabies vaccines, wormings, advantage so they are flea free when you take them home, a veterinary exam, and the spay or neuter. Microchipping is available for an additional $45. The adoption fee is waived for qualifying adopters interested in one of our sponsored cats.

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

At this time we are not attending adoption fairs. To adopt, we ask that you first complete an application (email hhfrey1@tds.net to request and indicate the cat(s) of interest). Approved applications will be allowed to meet the cat in a home environment. Completing the application does not obligate you to adopt.

More about this rescue

Stray Connection is a small organization of private foster homes (no shelter or store-front) that takes in kittens/cats from shelters outside of Knoxville that are typically high-kill, low-funded. These cats are brought to Knoxville where they receive the necessary vet care. Because our cats live in private homes, we know them well. It is our mission to make the best match of the cat's personality and individual needs with an approved adopter.
