Drake is an absolute charmer with a heart as big as his smile. He loves everyone he meets and happily soaks up any attention given to him. Despite a rough start in life, Drake is a joyful, affectionate dog who has quickly learned that not all people are scary—and he’s embracing the good life with enthusiasm.
Drake was found wandering a dangerous rural road, narrowly avoiding being hit multiple times. He was extremely thin, frightened, and initially wouldn’t let anyone catch him. Eventually, he chose a home where he felt safe, made himself comfortable, and once he realized the homeowners were kind and feeding him, something clicked. Drake decided people weren’t so bad after all. Sadly, he was never claimed and was likely another dog dumped in the area. The kind family who helped him reached out to us, and that’s how Drake found his way into our rescue.
Since arriving, Drake has absolutely blossomed. He’s been fully vetted and vaccinated and is scheduled for his neuter and microchip on 2/12/26. He’s enjoying regular meals, gaining healthy weight, and getting to know the other dogs—doing wonderfully with them. Our vet has him at 11-12 months old.
Drake is a smart, eager learner who quickly picked up where it’s appropriate to go potty. He truly wants to please his people and thrives on companionship. He’s happiest when he’s near his humans, soaking up love and being part of the action.
We believe Drake may be a mix of German Shepherd with either Australian Shepherd or Belgian Malinois, which fits his intelligence, loyalty, and desire to stay connected to his people.
Drake is going to make a fantastic companion for a family or individual looking for a loving, loyal dog who’s ready to start fresh and give his whole heart.
If you’re looking for a resilient, affectionate dog who’s overcome the odds and is ready to love deeply, Drake is ready to find his forever home 🐾❤️
