Meet Ilya 💛
If sweetness had four paws, it would be Ilya.
This adorable little guy has the gentlest heart and the happiest spirit. Ilya loves people and lights up around other dogs — he’s the kind of pup who makes instant friends wherever he goes. Whether it’s cuddling on the couch or greeting you like you’ve been gone for years, he’s all in.
Outside, Ilya has the cutest habit — he does a little happy bounce when he goes out with his bigger dog friend. It’s like his whole body can’t contain his excitement. Watching him hop along is guaranteed to make you smile.
And if that’s not enough to melt you… he smiles in his sleep. Yes, really. Tiny sleepy grins that prove he’s dreaming the sweetest dreams.

While we are a foster-based animal rescue and all of our dogs are in foster care, we do have a cat adoption space at our new Adoption & Wellness Center in Chaska. We also partner with local retail locations like PetSmart Richfield and Chuck & Don's Chanhassen to feature adoptable cats at their stores.

Carver-Scott Humane Society was founded in 1989 with the mission of connecting animals in need with people who care. Our vision is a world where every animal is safe, cared for, and loved.
In 2017, we introduced a new, innovative rescue philosophy based on our Four Pillars: TNR, Serve Where You Save, FurKeeps, and Adopters Welcome. As of 2018, we adopt over 500 dogs and cats into the community every year, with a nationally reported Live Release Rate of 97%. We serve over 1,000 Minnesota pets and their families annually through our surrender prevention program, FurKeeps, aiming to keep pets out of the shelter system in the first place.
CSHS focuses on serving and saving Minnesota pets, and we do not transport animals in from out of state. We do our best to prevent surrender, which creates capacity for us to transfer most of our animals from high-volume impounds and shelters throughout the state. For the past three years, we have transferred more animals from Minneapolis Animal Care & Control than any other animal welfare organization.
