My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tina is ready to find her purr-fect match for Palentines Day! This girl has it all; she's playful and fun and loves to chase toys around, but is just as happy curling up on your feet and watching a rom-com. She loves spending time with people and wants to be involved in whatever you're doing. If you're drinking your morning coffee beware of putting your mug down for too long, you might find her nose in it! She has lived with kids and with several other cats so probably would do well with an animal friend as long as proper slow introductions are observed. If you're ready invite some love into your life - apply to adopt Tina!

Tina has a small wound that we are monitoring and will need to wear a cone until at least February 19th. She is not quite ready to be adopted but could potentially go to foster-to-adopt with the right family.

Think you could be Tina's person? Here's how to find out:

1. Visit our centre to meet this pet during viewing hours at 3202 Norland Ave, learn more about their ideal match and apply to adopt in person;
Our viewing/adoption hours are:
1pm-5pm Monday - Wednesday, Friday

OR

2. Submit an online application adopt.spca.bc.ca and staff will contact the first suitable adopter to set-up a visit!

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

    Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

    Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

    Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

    1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

    2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

    3. Freedom from distress

    4. Freedom from discomfort

    5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
