My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lushie A181950
74 lb. spayed female, approx 2 years old

-Don’t let the polite leash manners fool you — this girl is a whole vibe. She walks beautifully without pulling, complete with the cutest little waddle you’ve ever seen. She’s a bit on the chunky side (working on her summer bod with a diet here), but that does not slow her down one bit.

-At first, she turned her nose up at treats, leading us to believe she might be a refined lady with a preference for people food. But fear not — she eventually decided Pup-Peronis are, in fact, acceptable and even delightful. She sits like a pro and takes treats ever so gently.

-Despite her larger-than-life frame, she’s surprisingly active and playful. She busts out spontaneous zoomies, is obsessed with toys, and happily shares them with humans — no possessiveness here. When playtime is over, she transforms into a certified lapdog, pressing her entire body into you like she’s trying to merge souls. Expect occasional kisses as a bonus feature.

-If you’re looking for a happy, squishy, toy-loving cuddle bug with excellent leash manners and a world-class waddle, she’s your girl. 🐾💃

-Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper intros

•Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt

•Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment.

•Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in.

•There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption.

•To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering.

**And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.**

•The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-5:30
