Rusty is a beautiful 3½-year-old German Shepherd weighing 73 pounds, with a heart just as big as his paws.
This sweet boy was rescued by heroes after being seen running and dodging cars on the freeway. Despite such a frightening and uncertain start, Rusty has shown himself to be incredibly gentle, loving, and trusting.
Rusty is wonderful with other dogs and great with people. He has a calm, affectionate nature and is truly starting to blossom now that he knows he is safe and cared for. He enjoys being close to his humans and will happily soak up all the love and attention you’re willing to give.
He is 100% potty trained and leash trained. Rusty is very smart and has already learned “sit” and “shake,” making him an easy and rewarding addition to a home ready to give him the stability he deserves.

We work hard at trying to find homes for dogs that are homeless or scheduled to be euthanized at Harris County Animal Shelter.
