My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Mirna: The Playful Girl from Kosovo!

Mirna is a vibrant, affectionate girl who is looking for a family to call her own. While she might start off a little reserved, once she knows she’s safe, her true personality shines brighter than a spotlight!

Toy Connoisseur: If there’s a toy box nearby, Mirna is in heaven. She loves the "shopping" experience of picking out her favorite toy and will happily zoom around the yard showing off her latest prize.

Affectionate & Playful: Once she warms up (which happens very quickly!), she is a total snuggle-bug. She balances her high-energy "zoomie" sessions with plenty of sweet, physical affection.

Social Butterfly (at her own pace): Mirna enjoys the company of other dogs. While she can be a bit shy during initial introductions, she loves to play once she feels comfortable with her canine friends.

Mirna’s Ideal Home:
Because Mirna is a sensitive soul, she’s looking for a home that understands her "scary" moments. She can be startled by loud noises or sudden movements, and in those times, she’ll look to her humans for a little extra comfort and reassurance.

If this sounds like your perfect match, hit that apply button today to make Mirna apart of your family!

MEET AND GREETS

We primarily rely on meet & greets for potential adopters. Approved adopters may meet adoptable animals at the home of the animal's foster, or possibly in the adopter's own home.

More about this rescue

Operation Paws for Homes, Inc. rescues dogs of all breeds and ages from high-kill shelters reducing the numbers being euthanized daily. We provide foster homes where they can get the love and attention needed before finding their forever homes. Our organization provides pet adoption services in Virginia, Washington DC, Maryland, and parts of Southern Pennsylvania. Operation Paws for Homes, a 501(c)(3) organization, is 100% donor funded and could not save these dogs and fulfill their dreams of being united with their forever families, without the dedication of our incredible adopters, fosters, donors and volunteers. Sadly, without our help, all of these adoptable animals would face almost certain euthanasia - usually within days or hours of arriving at the shelter. Each year we take in hundreds of wonderful animals who were left at shelters by no fault of their own.
