Caspian has quite a story to tell… though for now, he’s keeping the details to himself. During one of our recent bitter cold days, this handsome boy was discovered wandering the hallway of a 6th-floor apartment building in SW DC—an area only accessible by keyed elevator. How he got there remains a mystery. Building management sent out multiple emails to residents, hoping Caspian’s family would come forward so he could be reunited with them. When no one responded after several days, plans were made to take him to the local public shelter. That’s when a kind-hearted young resident stepped in, offering Caspian a temporary safe haven.
She quickly realized what a gem he is and reached out for help finding him a safe place to land. Caspian is incredibly sweet, outgoing, playful and full of that classic orange cat people-loving purrsonality. But being a typical teenage boy, he's high energy and full of spunk and gets overstimulated resulting in play-biting and bunny kicking. He's getting neutered/vaccinated today which will help a lot as would another young feline wrestling buddy. 💙 Meet him in Alexandria, VA Posted 2/13/26

We strive to make the "purr-fect" match through our interview and application process. Adoption fees, which range from $165-$185, include all medical work (FELV/FIV testing, shots; spay/neuter, etc); home visits may be required prior to final placement. The majority of our kittens are only available for adoption in pairs or as a companion to another young cat/kitten already in the home. Sorry, but we do not adopt very young kittens to families with children under 6 yrs old due to safety concerns for both child and kitten. Adopters also receive a certificate for a free comprehensive wellness exam at any Caring Hands Animal Hospital.

More about this rescue
We are a small, private feline-only rescue group dedicated to the rescue, care and placement of homeless cats and kittens. We do not have a shelter and rely on a group of dedicated foster homes to care for our felines until a "fur-ever" home can be found. We actively promote the importance of spaying and neutering and best practices in companion animal care. The majority of our cats/kittens come from high-kill shelters. We do not receive any government funding and rely on private contributions, 100% of which go to provide medical care, food and supplies.
