Some dogs come into our lives quietly. Ace came in like a storm - and survived it. Our stunning black and white lab mix was brought to us by the police with wounds scattered across his body and a story we'll likely never fully know. What we DO know is that whatever he endured did not harden his heart. It didn't dim his spirit. It didn't steal his capacity to love.
In fact, it seems to have done the opposite.
Ace greets the world like it owes him nothing and gives him everything. His tail wags for strangers. His eyes light up at the simple joy of a leash in your hand. Long walks? Yes please. New friends? Absolutely. A squeaky toy and a patch of grass? Best day ever. He leans into you when you pet him - not timidly, but trustingly.
There is something profoundly special about a dog who has every reason to be guarded, yet chooses love anyway. That's Ace. He doesn't carry his past on his shoulders. He carries hope. He carries joy. He carries the quiet resilience of a survivor who decided the world is still worth wagging at.
If you're looking for a dog with a big heart, playful spirit and a story that will make you hold him just a little tighter - Ace is ready to deal himself into your life. And trust us...with this Ace, you win.
If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website www.savehomelessanimals.org. SAVE is operating by appointment-only for approved adopters. For more information please call SAVE at 609-309-5214.
