My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Robin Hood & Little John — Double the Love, Double the Loyalty

Hi. We’re Robin Hood and Little John — a legendary duo, if we do say so ourselves. And while history might call him “Little,” let’s just say my brother is generously sized.

We were rescued in partnership with ACT Spay Neuter Clinic and are now safe with Give Me Shelter Cat Rescue. We were adopted as kittens once before, but life changed for our family. There was a toddler involved, and while we truly like kids (we’ll get to that!), sometimes managing tiny humans and two handsome cats is a lot. So now we’re looking for our next forever home — together, of course.

Because separating us? Absolutely not.

I’m Robin Hood.
I’m the bold one. The leader. The toy hunter. If there’s a feather wand in the house, I will find it. I’ll chase it, leap for it, and sometimes even fetch toys like a very talented (and very handsome) dog. I love to play and will happily initiate a wrestling match with my brother before curling up to groom him like the loyal sidekick I am.

I’m affectionate — very affectionate. I lean into pets. I follow you around. I’ll hop on the bed for snuggles and then settle in at the foot for movie night like I belong there (because I do).

And I’m Little John.
Yes, I’m the bigger one. I currently weigh about 18 pounds — which just means there’s more of me to love. I’m working on slimming down, so I’m on a structured meal plan and can’t be free-fed. I need a family committed to helping me stay on track and reach a healthy weight. Consistency is love, after all.

I may be a little more cautious at first, but once you start petting me? My purr turns on immediately. Loud. Rumbly. Impressive, if I do say so myself. I adore scratches and will happily melt under your hand.

Things We Both Love:

  • Being pet, scratched, and adored

  • Romping and playing together

  • Grooming and snuggling each other

  • Hopping on the bed for cuddles

  • Greeting the kids at the door after school

  • Following our humans around the house

  • Joining movie night (we prefer the cozy foot-of-the-bed seating section)

We truly love children. We come to the door to greet them, follow them around, and even hop into their beds for pets. We’re social, affectionate boys who want to be part of the action — just in a home where everything feels manageable and stable.

What we’re looking for is simple:
A family ready for double the affection, double the purrs, and double the companionship — and one that will help Little John stay healthy while letting Robin Hood keep the toy game strong.

We’ve already proven how deeply we can bond — with each other and with our people.

Now we’re ready for our next great adventure. And this time, it’s forever.

Please note:

  • Robin Hood should be adopted with his best friend
  • Indoor only

More about this rescue

Every day adult and senior cats with treatable medical and behavioral conditions are euthanized. GIVE ME SHELTER's goal is to rescue these cats from certain death and place them into loving permanent homes.
GMS is a registered 501(c)3 organization and is dedicated to helping stop the overpopulation of unwanted and abandoned cats. We are a small group of dedicated volunteers who are committed to bettering the life of adult cats who no longer have a home to call their own. Every time you adopt from us, you allow us to save another cat that would have otherwise died. We receive new cats into our system almost every week. Our website is constantly being updated, so please check back often!
